A KC COLUMN by KC Carlson

DC Comics Nuclear wintertime special #1

DC Comics Nuclear wintertime special #1 — I am so pleased of my former employer for coming up with such a absurd title for an anthology. However, based on the current weather here, while I am typing, the title actually seems somewhat appropriate. a lot of of the stories here will be taking care of future scenarios, so good luck to all of you continuity-ravaged people attempting to place them — I’m so delighted to no longer be in your esteemed ranks.

Covering the bases, it says that these characters are “older versions of Aquaman, Catwoman, and green Arrow” alongside legacy characters like Batman 666 and Superman One Million — and who could forget DC’s time-ravaged, post-apocalyptic hero Kamandi, the Last kid in This Sentence? To top off this 80-Page Giant, there’s also a Supergirl story by Tom Taylor, Tom Derenick, and Yasmine “Tom” Putri where a future Kara is desperately trying to “save her daughter from a planet on the brink of total collapse.” I sorta remember a story like that being one of DC’s a lot of famous! maybe there will be a creative twist!

Heroes in crisis #3

Heroes in crisis #3 — a lot more layers are peeled back in the mystery of the “superhero hospital” called Sanctuary. They’ve had its secrets revealed, causing even a lot more tragedies. Why did Superman, Batman and wonder woman create it in the first place? Is the healthcare facility genuinely alive by means of A.I.? how was it built and who — or what — is Sanctuary’s brain?

Looney Tunes 2#46

Meanwhile, in Looney Tunes #246, Elmer Fudd has “Stwuck it wich” in the stock market! You just know that can’t last when a certain wascally wabbit lives ideal next door. It’s Elmer vs. Bugs in “Wall Stweet!”

Silver Age teen Titans volume 2

Silver Age teen Titans volume 2 — This trade paperback collects original 1960s teen Titans stories from teen Titans #12-24 and a Batman crossover from The brave and the bold #83 (with art by Neal Adams). The rest of the collection features the terrific art of Nick Cardy on a classic Christmas tale, a Dimensional Caper, the mad Mod, Hawk and Dove, and wonder Girl’s new look! (And several of the stories have Neal Adams inking Cardy’s breathtaking pencils!) 352 pages of Silver Age greatness!

Daredevil #612

Daredevil #612 — It’s an oversized, 40-page special and the overwhelming conclusion to the current fall of Daredevil epic by Charles Soule and Phil Noto. and check out these artists on variant covers: Frank Miller! J. Scott Campbell! bill Sienkiewicz! lots of rumblings out there about what the future (if any) of Daredevil might be in 2019.

Ironheart #1

Ironheart #1 — I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while! If you saw the Westfield blog earlier this week, you already know a bit about Ironheart. If you don’t know who Riri Williams is, she originally debuted back in 2016, a genius 15-year-old who created a suit of armor similar to Iron Man’s and ultimately got Stark’s attention — and approval. She’s met or fought alongside lots of of Marvel’s heroes and even joined the Champions. She is also one of the coolest new characters at marvel in a long time — and it’s about time she got her own book (after taking over Tony’s title for a while)! This new series is written by Eve Ewing (a poet when not writing comics) and drawn by Kevin Libranda (who’s previously drawn The Champions). Ironheart #1 features Riri going up against one of Spider-Man’s old foes after a group of world leaders have been taken hostage. and the cover for #2 (out in January) displays some cool tech! Don’t miss this cool new series!

Return of Wolverine #3

Return of Wolverine #3 — I’m not really sure what to think about this title, when it seems like the only thing being discussed about it is how late it is. Well, here it is, finally. Ta-da! hope it was worth the wait!

Dead man Logan #1

Dead man Logan #1 — Ohhhhhhhhhh…. This need to be why a lot of of the Wolverine stuff is late. He’s dead! I guess that’s a pretty good reason for not being on time! (I’ll have to remember that one…)

WESTFIELD COMICS is not responsible for the silly things that KC says. especially that thing that really irritated you. Yeah, I’m just messing with you, Wolverine fans! (I think…) Also, if you’re wondering about the odd column title this week, ask Wayne Markley, who’s on the mend!
