The Overstreet cost guide to Batman

I’ve been extremely thinking about seeing The Overstreet cost guide to Batman, ever because it was solicited a few months back. The original Overstreet cost guide for Comic books is a quite conclusive volume on the ins and outs of comic book collecting, with a big amount of each book being taken up with the cost guide itself. I’m not a typical collector, in that I’ve quite much collected what I’ve wished to over the years, and I’ve never truly had the money to do as well much major back problem collecting. (As opposed to accumulating products to read.)

I started purchasing (and reading) comic books around six years old. I had a grandma who didn’t have a great deal of a great deal of money to spend on Christmas presents, however method back then (in the early 1960s), comic book subscriptions were only about a dollar for a year’s worth of comics — a extremely inexpensive cost for a grandma who wished to keep motivating my rate of interest in reading. So, for numerous years (well into college), each year in my Christmas stocking was a card telling me that another year’s worth of Walt Disney’s Comics and stories would be in my mailbox over the next 12 months.

Before long, I found the The Comic book cost guide in 1975. The cover featured Tarzan by Joe Kubert. (It wouldn’t ended up being the Overstreet cost guide up until the complying with year — with a Spirit cover by will Eisner.) I quite much purchased every subsequent volume after that up until just recently — when I skipped every other year, as my back problem hunting had quite much ended, because I had quite much purchased up all the back problems that I might discover (or afford). I wound up providing away my older cost Guides, mainly since it was beginning to be a minor issue storing all those ultra-thick books!

NA, NA, N… OOPS, DID THAT ALREADY…

The Overstreet cost guide to Batman features a character who’s not a preferred character of mine, however it’s a fantastic option for an private character cost Guide, provided his long history and long-running appeal.

Batman annual #7

You may suspect (from the title of the book) there would be an actual cost guide within. Surprise! There’s actually two! very first up, there’s something called Batman Comics Overstreet values which provides “the listings and costs of Batman comics” from the present 49th edition of the routine Overstreet Comic book cost guide in a 76-page section of the book. later on, there’s a Cover Gallery (with prices) of the earliest problems of Detective Comics featuring Batman, so Detective Comics #27-300 and Batman #1-250 (plus Batman annual #1-7) — with a reward pin-up!

But there’s much much more to the Overstreet cost guide to Batman than that! There are different introductions/overviews and spotlights on essential (early) creators (Bob Kane, expense Finger, and Jerry Robinson), in addition to creators who left a legacy: Gardner Fox, Dennis O’Neil, Neal Adams, Frank Miller, Chuck Dixon, and Paul Dini.

There’s also a guide to the numerous Robins, starting with Dick Grayson (one of the few comic book characters who was actually enabled to substantially age), Batgirl, Batwoman, the Bat-Family, Commissioner James Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, essential villains including the Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, the Riddler, Bane, Mr. Freeze, the Penguin, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Scarecrow, and even much more characters.

One of the times Batman appeared on the cover of the Overstreet Comic book cost Guide

As well, included are an essay about the different Batman newspaper comic strips, a look at Bat-Manga!, comprehensive looks at Batman in the media — including blockbuster movies, TV shows, and acclaimed animation, video games, radio and other audio dramas, toys and action figures, and books/novels — and a gallery of all of Batman’s appearances on the cover of the Overstreet cost guide (more than you may think!).

I’m not sure exactly how much I’ll actually utilize The Overstreet cost guide to Batman as a cost guide, however it’s definitely a book that I’ll keep useful as an essential recommendation — kinda sorta exactly how I utilize the master Overstreet Comic book cost guide these days. I question exactly how long it will be before we see private cost Guides for Superman, Spider-Man, question Woman, and other essential characters.

WESTFIELD COMICS is not accountable for the dumb things that KC says. particularly that thing that truly irritated you. There’s absolutely nothing irritating me these days. Santa’s coming soon, and I don’t want another rock in my stocking! (It took nearly two months for my foot to heal up last year!)
